Since 2017, the teams in the Central operating theater and the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine have been proud to be certified in accordance with ÖNORM EN ISO 9001:2015 in accordance with globally applicable standards.
The certification represents a special distinction for the respective division of the hospital. The very strict review of documentation, handling and procedures serves above all to ensure the safety of our patients, compliance with standards, the satisfaction of our employees, and much more.
We ensure that a consistently high level of quality is maintained through annual reviews by means of recertification and surveillance audits in the presence of external auditors.

The surgical department of Evangelischen Krankenhauses has six state-of-the-art operating theaters, one treatment room, and a day-clinic operating theater. An average of 50 surgeries are performed every day, including special services such as minimally invasive and computer-navigated procedures. The focus is on orthopedics, traumatology and general, visceral and vascular surgery as well as ophthalmology and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The close cooperation between surgeons, anesthetists and the highly qualified theater staff, combined with flexible operating times, ensures medical excellence and individually tailored treatment for each patient. Each professional group plays a crucial role, be it in the surgery itself, in patient care before, during and after the procedure, or in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene in the operating theater.
Patient safety is our top priority. Our aim is to promote the health and well-being of our patients in order to improve their quality of life as much as possible. An empathetic, responsible and professional approach to each individual is at the heart of our efforts.
From Monday to Friday, six operating theaters, one treatment room and the day clinic are available:
▪ One continuous operating theater (7:00 am – midnight)
▪ five operating theaters from 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
▪ one operating theater (treatment room) from 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
Day clinic: Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
On Saturday, four operating theaters are available:
▪ one continuous operating theater (7:00 am – midnight)
▪ two operating theaters from 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
▪ one operating theater from 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
A continuous operating theater (24 hours) is available on Sundays and public holidays.
