Psychology
The psychology team at Evangelisches Krankenhaus offers clinical-psychological treatment and counseling as well as psychotherapeutic support for patients and relatives. By applying health-promoting measures, the patient is supported in coping with the illness and dealing with it in a self-responsible way – helping them to help themselves.
Interdisciplinary cooperation is based on a general biopsychosocial disease model that includes biological, social and psychological factors and their interaction in the development and maintenance of disorders.
The clinical psychology and psychotherapy team is responsible for all departments at Evangelisches Krankenhaus and covers a wide range of activities.

Nutrition counseling
Good food that also supports good health is a matter of course at Evangelisches Krankenhaus. In many cases, the right diet is also crucial for promoting the healing progress. A three-person team of dieticians is available for this purpose, who carry out the following tasks after medical referral:
- Individual counselling – with the involvement of relatives on request
- Advice on building up your diet after surgery
- Support in choosing the optimal diet
- Assistance with the individual selection of nutritional drinks
- Advice on partial or total artificial (enteral or parenteral) nutrition
Wound management

Nicolas RUZICKA, DGKP
Wound manager
If wounds do not heal, this places a great psychological burden on the patient in addition to the physical one. Therefore, the modern wound management we practice plays a decisive role in the entire healing process.
It begins with a thorough wound history and diagnosis of the wound situation in order to determine the individual care requirements, and develop an individualized treatment plan.
Modern treatment techniques are used in this process, including advanced dressing materials, innovative therapeutic approaches such as vacuum therapy, and modern infection-control methods. Close interdisciplinary cooperation between wound management, nursing staff, and doctors is essential to ensure optimal care.
It is particularly important to treat patients with empathy, to take their individual fears and concerns seriously, to build a trusting relationship, and to provide comprehensive information and advice. This not only promotes physical healing, but also improves the patient’s general well-being.
