Free internet access
You have the option of using our free WiFi – in your room as well as in the shared areas – with the equipment you bring with you. During your stay, you will find WiFi details on the information display in your patient room, in the reception and cafeteria area, in the outpatient clinic, and in all other patient areas.
Telephone
For avoidance of interference with medical devices, cell phones may only be used in patient rooms with certain restrictions and without restriction in the cafeteria area. Cell phones are not permitted in the corridors, operating theatres or intensive care areas.
You also have the option of renting your own telephone connection at your bedside. The reception will inform you about the fees.
Room safe
Cash, jewelry, and other valuables can be deposited in the room safe. A room safe is available to every patient.
Newspaper service
We also offer our patients the option to purchase newspapers and magazines. Your requests will be received directly by our in-house courier service.
Room furnishings
Evangelisches Krankenhaus has around 280 beds. Each patient room has an anteroom as well as a shower, washbasin, bidet, and WC. The harmonious colors in the rooms and all the furnishings create a pleasant, homely atmosphere. The optional telephone connection and the radio and TV satellite system offer additional comfort.
It goes without saying that all beds can be operated fully electronically, and each bed has its own nurse call system to provide additional safety.
Each patient decides for themselves whether they would prefer to recover in a three-bed, two-bed or single room. However, registration for a single or double room is required in good time and must be made by your doctor directly with the operating theatre and bed planning department.
Medication
We ask you to discuss any long-term medication with your admitting doctor on the ward. This ensures that long-term medication is not interrupted.
Smoking
The mandatory legal provisions for compliance with non-smoker protection stipulate that smoking is not permitted in the wards, corridors, rooms, cafeteria or foyer areas. Smokers who nevertheless cannot/do not want to give up their cigarettes can visit the specially designated smoking lounge on the 2nd top floor.
ATM
There is an ATM (in Austria called “Bankomat”) in the foyer of the main entrance next to the reception.
Patient transport/taxi
Johanniter-Hilfsgemeinschaften, Red Cross, etc.
The Johanniter-Hilfsgemeinschaften organize patient transport to/from Evangelisches Krankenhaus around the clock. Orders can be placed by calling +43 1 476 00.
If you need patient transport to take you home, please inform the ward base the day before you are discharged, after consulting your doctor.
Taxi
If you are planning to take a taxi home, our porters will be happy to help you order one.
