Competent anesthesia counseling
Many people are more afraid of anesthesia than of the operation itself. These fears are usually unfounded, as many years of statistics show. On average, not even one percent of all serious complications can be attributed to problems with anesthesia. However, to increase their safety, patients can do a lot themselves by taking advantage of the anesthesia outpatient clinics available in many places.
Risk factors for an operation can be, for example:
- Cardiovascular diseases,
- Lung diseases,
- Diabetes,
- Anemia,
- Patients who take anticoagulants
- Patients who take a number of other drugs
Plan your surgery like you would your vacation!
Patients with planned surgical procedures are requested to be examined for suitability earlier, ideally three weeks beforehand. The anesthesiologist will check for any relevant diseases based on the latest information and quality guidelines of the ministry of health.
The patient's wishes regarding surgery will be discussed. Any worries or concerns are easier to address and clear up in a stress-free atmosphere well before the planned procedure. The phase before, during, and after surgery can be optimally adapted to the patient, thus improving quality of life and the result of the operation.
