The new Department of General and Vascular Surgery and all surgical departments fall under the leadership of Prim. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Georg Bischof. He is supported by a well-coordinated team of vascular surgeons that has been working closely with the Internal and Angiological Department (head of department: Prim. Dr. Thomas Maca) and the Neurological Department (head of department: Prim. Univ.-Doz. Dr. Udo Zifko) for years.

Together with the Radiology Department of Prim. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Bernhard Schwaighofer (“Diagnosehaus 18”), patients have access to diagnostic as well as all therapeutic methods to treat their circulatory disorders adequately according to the highest medical standards. This includes the professional care for chronic wounds offered at the Evangelical Hospital by Andrea Ritzengruber, certified nurse and wound manager.

In addition to arterial surgery, the Evangelical Hospital has been focusing on vascular surgery for years. We use and offer all proven methods of varicose vein and ulcer surgery. After interventions and surgeries, patients are taken care of safely and professionally at the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Medicine (head of department: Prim. Prof. Dr. S. Langenecker).
